What’s on in Geneva this week? (7-11 October)

It’s October, which means most of the disarmament action moves to UN Headquarters in New York, for the annual session of the First Committee of the UN General Assembly. The 74th session starts today and runs until 8 November: the schedule is available here. You can follow the action live on UN Web TV and get statements and documents from the UN Papersmart website or Reaching Critical Will. We also recommend subscribing to Reaching Critical Will’s First Committee Monitor for keeping up to date with the main issues. For those on Twitter, the hashtag #FirstCommittee will connect you with reporting, commentary and lively debate.

Meanwhile, in Vienna the CTBTO Advisory Group will meet from 7-10 October, and in The Hague the OPCW Executive Council will hold its 92nd session from 8-11 Ovtober.
